Instructions
Step 1
Using a mixer beat butter, and both sugars until smooth and combined. Add extracts and eggs and beat until combined, scraping sides and bow as needed.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Step 3
Add flour mix to butter mix and combine. Dough will be soft.
Step 4
Layout two large pieces of plastic wrap. Divide the dough evenly in half. Place each piece of dough on the plastic wrap. Form each piece into a disk and wrap tightly.
Step 5
Place each piece of dough in fridge for at least 2 hours to 24 hours. Longer in the fridge makes it easier to work with.
Step 6
Preheat oven to 375. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper (don't skip the parchment paper)
Step 7
Dust workspace with flour working with one piece of dough at a time, keep other in fridge. Roll out dough until 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutter to cut dough and transfer to cookie sheet. Work quickly as the dough warms up it will get sticky.
Step 8
Bake 8-12 minutes until edges turn light brown. Bake longer for crispier cookies.
Step 9
Let cool. They are really good plain or with icing. So tasty
Step 10
Take premade frosting and divide out into bowls. Use food coloring to color frosting into desired colors. Decorate cooled cookies with frosting and sprinkles. Provides minutes of fun for the whole family.
